Our Signed Assembly Bills:

AB 22 (Asm. McCarty) – Preschool data: data collection.

AB 22 ensures that California collects the necessary student and workforce data to understand the impact of the state’s historic investment in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and the California State Preschool Program (CSPP).
 

AB 393 (Asm. Rivas) – Childcare: dual language learners.

AB 393 expands the asset-based Dual Language Learner (DLL) identification process established through AB 1363 to general child care programs (CCTR) and the Migrant Child Care Program (CMIG).

AB 1363 (Asm. Rivas) – Preschool: dual language learners.

AB 1363 systematizes the identification of Dual Language Learners (DLLs) in California State Preschool Program (CSPP) by developing a standard process for CSPP providers to identify the DLLs they enroll and serve.

AB 2268 (Muratsuchi) – English learners: English language proficiency assessment.

AB 2268 ensures that the language proficiency of the state’s youngest emerging bilingual students is not evaluated with developmentally inappropriate assessments that could harm their academic and life trajectories.

Our Signed Senate Bills:

 

SB 1047 (Sen. Limón) – Early learning and care.

SB 1047 enables low-income families to more easily enroll in subsidized child care and preschool by using their eligibility for other government subsidized programs, such as CalFresh, Medi-Cal, WIC, or Head Start.
