In California, nearly sixty percent of children under age six live in homes where a language other than English is spoken. These children are our state’s Dual Language Learners (DLLs), and Early Edge California is committed to supporting them in gaining access to high-quality Early Learning programs that meet their unique needs and help them grow and thrive on their path to Kindergarten.

There are a number of innovative projects currently unfolding across California to support DLLs and the teachers and programs that serve them. To showcase these efforts, we have developed an interactive map that provides an overview of each project, the partners involved, the objectives, and the timeline. Projects are currently spanning from 2020 to 2023, however we plan to continue to update this page as new projects arise in the future. Scroll down to explore our interactive map and learn more about these exciting projects.
