Webinar: A First Step Towards Equity for Dual Language Learners in Early Childhood Systems: Identifying Their Language Needs and Characteristics 

Watch or listen to the recording from the recent webinar hosted by the Migration Policy Institute (MPI) where experts discussed a newly released framework describing the most critical elements that should be included in standardized, comprehensive Dual Language Learner (DLL) identification and tracking processes for early childhood systems, based on program and policy needs. Speakers included Maki Park, Senior Policy Analyst for the National Center on Immigrant Integration Policy at MPI and Delia Pompa, Senior Fellow for Education Policy at MPI, as well as Early Edge’s Executive Director, Patricia Lozano, who shared about current legislative efforts to effectively define and identify DLLs across the state of California through a strengths-based approach.
