Early Edge California was honored to join Asm. Kevin McCarty (D-Sacramento) last week for a special event to celebrate Universal Transitional Kindergarten’s expansion! Asm. McCarty and Early Learning advocates uplifted this huge achievement for California by visiting a TK classroom at Sacramento’s Thomas Edison Language Institute, followed by a press conference to commemorate the start of expansion.
Alongside the Assemblymember, speakers included Early Edge’s Executive Director, Patricia Lozano, as well as representatives from Kidango, California School Employees Association (CSEA), and San Diego Unified School District. A TK teacher and parent from Thomas Edison Language Institute also shared about the benefits of the program for young learners.
Asm. McCarty and the group of Early Learning advocates released a joint statement to further uplift the day and the significance of TK’s expansion to all 4-year-old children in our state. Read the press release.
