NEW Video Series: “Sharing Their Voices: California’s FFN Providers”

Almost 40% of California children, ages 3 and under, receive child care from a family, friend, or neighbor in a home-based setting. These caregivers, known as FFNs, include grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, elders, friends, and neighbors. They provide critical support to children, families, and communities, but their contributions and needs are often overlooked.

Early Edge has produced a new video series, launched during National Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) Appreciation Week, to uplift the importance of FFN care and amplify the voices of FFN providers across California!

“Sharing Their Voices: California’s FFN Providers,” a 4-part series, features caregivers sharing about the work they do, their pride, their challenges, and what they need to support the children in their care. Watch the full series below.

Help us spread the word! Use our new social media toolkit or scroll down to find suggested posts to share the series with your networks.

Special thanks goes to all who made this video series possible: FFN Providers Johanna Rivera, Gloria González, Rocío Alfaro, Esperanza Romero, Leticia Martinez, Margarita Herrera, and Estela Hernandez, Lotus Bloom Family Resource Center, the members of our FFN Advisory Groups and FFN Workgroup, as well as our generous funders.
