Including Family, Friend, and Neighbor Care in California’s Vision for Early Childhood Reform

Our Executive Director Patricia Lozano spoke with Sarah Jackson from New America on the importance of and issues faced by Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) child care providers in California. 

The article also shared Early Edge’s recent video, The Value of California’s Family, Friend, and Neighbor Child Care Providers, which highlights California’s FFN providers, their work, and the organizations that support them.


“They are your neighbor, your grandma, they are a critical part of our care system and need support in order to provide the best care for our kids,” said Patricia Lozano, the executive director of Early Edge California who has been advocating for additional state support for FFN providers.
