Pre-K For All Early Learning Tour Photo Gallery
Early Edge California organized the first annual Early Learning tour of Pre-K school programs in Boston, New York City and New Jersey led by Assemblymember Kevin McCarty (D-Sacramento) and California State Superintendent of Public Instruction-elect Tony Thurmond.
In order to learn about successful Pre-K programs that can be replicated in California, the group of Early Learning educators, stakeholders and champions toured three programs that have shown promise in delivering quality Early Learning in their states. The tour took place one day after Assemblymember McCarty announced a comprehensive legislative package designed to increase availability of quality Pre-K programs in California. More than 30% of California’s low-income four-year-olds and 66% of low-income three-year-olds lack access to licensed Pre-K.
