Nonprofit leader breaks down Biden’s universal preschool proposal

April 30, 2021 | Fox40 News

FOX40 News interviewed Early Edge California’s Executive Director Patricia Lozano about President Biden’s Universal Pre-K proposal, part of his American Families Plan.

The average California family could save $13,000 a year if President Biden’s plans to fund Universal Preschool become reality. Patricia Lozano, Executive Director of Early Edge California, joined Sonseeahray Tonsall to discuss the potential impact, along with child care and paid family leave.

“It’s a great start. I think this is historic…the main thing is that California alone cannot do it. So, partnering with the Federal government is ideal because we can both cover the cost of providing Universal Pre-K. And, as you know, it’s one of the priorities of Governor Newsom so altogether we can make this happen for all families in California.”
