In April, Early Edge’s Executive Director Patricia Lozano and Senior Director of Operations Stephanie Wayland traveled to Vancouver, British Columbia for the 2024 World Forum on Early Care and Education. Hosted by the World Forum Foundation, the weeklong conference was an opportunity to connect with Early Learning professionals and advocates from more than 50 countries and share information, innovations, and advancements on issues impacting children and families worldwide.
During the event, attendees had the opportunity to learn from fellow experts in the field through a robust menu of conference sessions. Patricia joined colleagues from Uganda, Bangladesh, Canada, and the United States to present the conference session, “Improving Access to Child Care Through Advocacy and Policy,” where attendees learned about successful advocacy efforts that secured policy changes to improve access to Early Learning and Care. In addition to the sessions, attendees learned about Canada’s successful “$10 a day” campaign for child care and had the opportunity to visit diverse, high-quality early childhood programs in Vancouver to observe learning and care in action.
