March 17, 2026

March is Women’s History Month, an annual celebration which honors the contributions of women throughout U.S. history. The National Women’s History Alliance (NWHA) has announced the 2026 theme, “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future,” which recognizes the powerful leadership of women in creating a future that is rooted in equity, justice, and opportunity for all.
At Early Edge California, Women’s History Month holds a special significance. As a women-led organization in a women-dominated field, we are deeply connected to this movement. According to a 2025 report by the Center for the Study of Child Care Employment (CSCCE) at the University of California, Berkeley, “women make up nearly all early educators not only in California, but nationwide.”
In celebration, Early Edge California has curated a collection of educational resources to help Early Learning teachers, caregivers, and families honor and learn more about Women’s History Month and the legacies of trailblazing women.
