The Dual Language Learner (DLL) Master Plan Advocates Project
The Dual Language Learner (DLL) Master Plan Advocates Project represents a coordinated, collective voice to elevate the assets and needs of DLL children. The group brings together organizations from across the state to identify and collaborate on ways to support DLLs and their families by moving forward recommendations from the Master Plan for Early Learning and Care. After its launch in 2021, the group co-shaped a 2-year action plan based on the Master Plan’s DLL recommendations and continues to meet regularly to identify and mobilize on opportunities for joint advocacy guided by the action plan. It also engages in numerous learning opportunities around topics related to supporting DLLs. The partners are excited to continue the work and expand their collective impact as a group. This includes aligning policy advocacy strategies in support of DLLs and deepening equity and linguistic justice in California’s Early Learning and Care system.
