October 1, 2025
Filipino American History Month (FAHM) is celebrated annually in the United States during the month of October. It marks the anniversary of the first recorded evidence of Filipinos in North America in what is now known as Morro Bay, California. In California, FAHM was first recognized by the California Department of Education in 2006. According to the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS), Filipino Americans make up the second-largest Asian-American community in the U.S. and the third-largest racial group in California. The 2025 theme of FAHM is, “From Quotas to Communities: Filipino American Migration AND Movement.” To celebrate the history and important contributions of Filipino Americans in our nation and state, Early Edge California has put together a list of various resources to introduce you, your family, and/or the children in your care to FAHM.
