The California Department of Education (CDE) invites all early learning teachers to participate in two surveys (available in English and Spanish) about working in early childhood education (ECE) in California. The surveys ask for your input on what supports are most helpful to you, and what challenges you may be experiencing.

These surveys are part of an ECE workforce grant that California received from the National Governors Association and Council of Chief State School Officers to improve training, effectiveness, and working conditions for ECE professionals throughout the state.  

The California Department of Education (CDE) Early Learning and Care Division (ELCD) is leading the California state team which includes First 5 California, the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing, Early Edge CA, CA Alternative Payment Program Association, EveryChild CA, CA County Superintendents Educational Services Association, and the Tribal Child Care Association of CA. 

Survey 1 requests your input regarding difficulties that you may be experiencing in your work. Is reliable transportation an on-going concern? Is there not enough money in your bank account to get through the month? Is childcare for your own children an obstacle that is difficult to get past? In order to address these and other concerns, we need your honest feedback and we need it quickly!
 
Survey 1 should take no longer than twenty minutes to complete.
 
Survey 2 requests your input regarding a variety of resources that have been designed to support your work. If these are effective resources, we need to know. If the resources are not useful to you, we need to know that as well. This survey requests that you tell us about the best ways to communicate with families and that you provide a response about each of the resources listed. For each resource (there are 37 listed), two responses are required. Please provide one response for how you use (or do not) use the resource in your day-to-day practice and provide a second response for how the resource impacts your ECE career.
 
Survey 2 should take no longer than twenty minutes to complete.
 
Before you go to the links, however, there a couple of things you should know: 

1. The surveys are completely anonymous. We do not ask for your name and we cannot link your survey responses to you.
2. When you complete your response to one question, you may experience a slight delay before the survey takes you to the next question.
3. Responses are required for each question before you can move on to the next. This was done intentionally so that we can get the widest and deepest understanding of what is happening for you and other members of the California ECE workforce.
4. You can complete the surveys at two different times, but once you start a survey it must be completed. You will not be able to start the survey, close it, and come back to it.
5. Together, both surveys should take no more than a total of 40 minutes of your time.

Queremos invitar a todos los maestros de educación infantil temprana a participar en dos encuestas (disponibles en español e inglés) sobre el trabajo en educación infantil temprana (ECE por sus siglas en inglés) en California. Las encuestas le piden su opinión acerca de las fuentes de apoyo que más le ayudan en su trabajo, como también, los obstáculos que usted esta enfrentando.

Estas encuestas son parte de una beca que California recibió por parte del National Governors Association y el Council of Chief State School Officers para mejorar el entrenamiento, eficacia y condiciones de trabajo de profesionales de educación temprana alrededor del estado.

Esta encuesta le solicita que nos informe sobre las mejores maneras de comunicarse con las familias y que proporcione una respuesta sobre cada uno de los recursos enumerados. Para cada recurso (hay 37 en la lista), se requieren dos respuestas.
