Untangling the Evidence on Preschool Effectiveness: Insights for Policymakers
The Learning Policy Institute released a new report that shows that high-quality Early Learning programs in preschool leave children better prepared for grade school, in terms of their academic skill development.
The report includes reviews of over twenty public preschool programs, and finds that students who attend high-quality Early Learning programs show substantial learning increases in comparison to children who do not attend preschool. The report also finds that investments in quality preschool programs bolster student success and positive effects on children’s literacy and mathematics skills.
