Play to Learn Webinar Sessions:
Session 1: Fundamentals of Play

- Define learning through play and understand its importance
- Understand and identify the various stages and types of play
- Advocate for play as an essential role in the early learning classrooms
- Explore the implications for dual language learners as they relate to the fundamentals of play
Session 2: Learning Language and Literacy Through Play: Teacher Role
November 6, 2019

- Identify key language and literacy components to promote through play
- Explore the teacher’s role in supporting literacy and language through play with all children, including dual language learners
- Develop a plan to support literacy through play in classroom
Session 3: Social and Emotional Learning through Play
December 11, 2019
3pm-5pm
- Review Social and Emotional Learning Core Competencies
- Explore how children develop Social and Emotional skills through play
- Discuss the teacher’s role in supporting social and emotional development during play for all children, including dual language learners
Thanks to our partnership with Cal Poly Pomona, we will be offering 1 Continuing Education Unit (CEU), the equivalent of 10 hours of professional development, for participants who complete the entire 3-series webinar and complete the associated written assignments.
