California Can Lead the Nation on Multilingualism and Diversity
We’re proud that Californians overwhelmingly supported Proposition 58. The new law removes outdated barriers that restricted bilingual education programs and mandated that English learners be taught in English only.
With English Learners comprising more than a third of kindergarteners, California must seize the opportunity to develop both their home languages and English in the early years.
